WebMagick makes image collections available on the Web. It recurses through directory trees, building HTML pages, imagemap files, and client-side/server-side maps or HTML tables to allow the user to navigate through collections of thumbnail galleries. Using JavaScript, HTML tables and cookies, WebMagick can also allow the viewer to configure how they view the gallery. The primary focus of WebMagick is performance. Image thumbnails are reduced and composed into a single image to reduce client accesses, reducing server load and improving client performance. Everything is pre-computed. During operation WebMagick employs innovative caching and work-avoidance techniques to make successive executions much faster. WebMagick has been successfully executed on directory trees containing many hundreds of directories and hundreds of thousands of images ranging from tiny icons to large JPEGs and PDF files.

EIGHT (Easy Image Gallery) is a Perl script that does most of the gallery maintenence work for you. All you need to do is create the gallery directory and load the images and thumbnails and eight will link them up and display the thumbs on index pages. EIGHT also includes support for multiple galleries, an integrated slideshow (using javascript), a simple guestbook, a simple image search engine and gallery statistics. You can also create captions for each image and you can personalize each gallery if you create the gallery's .dat file. EIGHT uses an HTML templating system, so you can customize the HTML without having to edit the CGI code.

SWIGS is a system for creating hierarchically organized sets of thumbnail galleries. Multiple sizes for each image are produced automatically, and each image can be annotated with a relevant description, date, photo credit, etc. The image galleries (albums) have a tree structure, each album possibly containing pictures and/or additional albums. The album is made up of a set of webpages: a set of thumbnail pages for the images in the gallery, a text-only list of all the images in the album (with description if available), and a page listing all the sub-albums of the current album, with a description and sample image for each.

indexpage.pl generates one or more index pages and the corresponding thumbnails for displaying images on the web. If there are more images available than will fit on one page with the specified number of rows and columns, indexpage.pl will generate more than one page, each with a navigator to easily reach the other pages. The pages will be called "index.html", "2.html", "3.html", and so on. There are lots of configuration options determining how the generated pages should look. Image descriptions are read from a file, eliminating the need to ever edit the files after generating them; they can always be regenerated for ease of maintaining.

My Photo Gallery is a Web-based photo gallery with support for other filetypes. It is easy to setup and even easier to maintain. Slick-looking image/file galleries and thumbnails are generated on the fly from the directory that you specify. Creating an album is as easy as creating a directory and FTPing your pictures to that directory. A Web administration interface is available, and updating is just as easy. PhotoShelf is a web-based digital image management, archive and display system written in Perl, backended by PostgreSQL. It is used to catalogue and arrange into albums photos from a digital camera or any other source. SLIKPIKS is a set of Perl scripts wrapped in a Perl CGI to help with the automation of creating html photobooks for a set of JPEGs. It resizes images for thumbnails and web-sized images, adds captions, and auto-creates html. It is unique in that it allows you to add optional captions to your photos.

A truly unique and advanced perl program that will automatically upload photos and generate the accompanying thumbnails to a script generated subdirectory of a website gallery directory. Tt will then generate the thumbnail gallery page with links to the big images, and will also place a link to the thumbnail page on the gallery home page. In the process, a specific delete script for each gallery is created that when run will automatically delete all photos uploaded as well as the gallery page and the link. Everything is done automatically, requires no work for the webmaster after setting up the initial script.

When linking to a picture this script automatically creates HTML pages on the fly with the picture, a description and a link back to the refering page.
