Ping

A code snippet that can be used to check if a server or website is up and running. Very useful if you need to ensure that a port or service or the server itself is still accessible online.

Perform ICMP Pings via low-level raw sockets in PHP easily with the API. Includes CLI example. As used within the FreeNATS Network Monitor.

PHP-Ping is a PHP script to ping from your server. The author writes "I was looking for a easy ping script and didn't found one, so I wrote this one. Just one file, a single line to configure.". Update (Aug. 2002): no more errors with new PHP versions.
