I tried to find other free dating scripts but this is the best one. It is simple to install and use it. One thing its confusion is for the first time, it asks for admin user name and pass, which is not registered before. Later I found from the sites forum. In general, it is great dating script.

There originally were plans for an instant messenger, however there's always been a problem with PHP based instant messengers where they can only handle a small number of concurrent users. To have an efficient instant messenger it would require using Push Engine and Comet Server technology which could only be installed on a dedicated server and would be a tad expensive to develop and have installed. Custom work by the author was $15 per hour for a long time but was increased to $20 per hour, which is still real cheap.. Yes, it's true that trying to get custom work done became difficult and slow. This is one of the reasons the author decided to make the Etano script open source, it just became too much for one person to try and handle all the support, custom jobs, plus future development. By being an open source project the support relies more on the community members and provides an opportunity for 3rd party developers to become involved and offer extra services and mods. The bottom line is, the Etano core is solid with very few bugs or issues and can be customized and used for a variety of community based sites, including dating or social networking. This could easily become the best script in it's class once more 3rd party developers become involved and provide more mods and templates, etc.

Etano dating systems — now is under MIT licence. Commit r884 in the source code adds some more stuff on top of 1.20, some of them could be useful. If you're not afraid of updating your site manually you could try grabbing the changed files and update your site. All addons now is under the same license. This scripts ad states that there is an integrated instant messenger. If only that were true. You will have to have one integrated by Datemill which might take weeks. Support is slow at best. Custom work is also very slow. Also, another reviewer said that custom work is $15 per hour. This is incorrect. Custom work is $20 per hour and you will wait a looong time to get any custom work done.

Integrating a chat system wouldn't be a problem, you can integrate anything you like into the script, its not encrypted. If you know php and css the world is your oyster. I know nothing about php and very little about css, but through help in the etano forums i have managed to create a site way beyond what it started out as, have a look www.nzadultfun.co.nz Yes I have to agree the support has been non existent of late, but I believe that is going to change soon. The guy who created the script probably got a bit disillusioned with deadbeats harassing him for all sorts of freebies or extra work for nothing. He had spent a considerable amount of time making this VERY SOLID script and basically got paid peanuts for all the time he put in. As I have been a customer for well over 3 years now and since release version 1.20 it has operated smoother than a baby's bottom. I actually PAID $180 US for the script (now its FREE) and have found it the BEST and EASIEST to use, and trouble free. This is one of those REALLY GENUINE deals that you rarely find thesedays on the net. Give it a try, its FREE and you got nothing to lose except a bit of time, and so much to gain.
