ill - inline layers
Pop up any kind of web-content without popping up an extra browser window or tab for it. Inline layers are JavaScript objects hovering over your document. They will display any kind of html-content & executable JavaScript code. Any number of layers can be displayed simultaneously. They can be dragged, minimized, resized & closed. Content can be retrieved from different sources: a string, an ajax-request or a URL. They come with different CSS styles that can easily be adapted. They will also display images & captions, and generate slide shows. And they will mimic the behaviour of alert, prompt & confirm messages. Ill objects are easy enough to be handled with just some basic knowledge of scripting. They are complex enough to handle their own methods, properties & events. The script is independent and introduces no external frameworks (no prototype, jQuery, ...). Inline layers have been tested to be browser friendly.
