Perfect solution for self-managed calendar
Reviewed byWBon Fri, 7th February 2014
The installation was as simple as anything I've had to do.
One caveat was that it seemed the initial install to a OFFSITE hosted server was that you have to allow WRITE capability during setup in places that you wouldn't expect to.
Root of the folder, and 2 other folders within. Once installed, Root was returned to normal, and others allowed to specific files (logs) that would need the ability in the future. There were no notes about this.
Otherwise, it went off without a hitch! Well done!
LuxCal Web Based Event Calendar Version 2.7.3
Reviewed byGooRiskon Thu, 20th December 2012
My very long search for such a website solution was dotted with installations, tests and failures of many previous web-based calendars. All were either too heavy, too slow, or offered cumbersome interfaces.
A download and test today of LuxCal Web Based Event Calendar proved this is an obscure but potent rival waiting to rise forward. By my help, that will be the case!
Version 2.7.3 LuxCal Web Based Event Calendar I downloaded was easy to install, easy to configure, and easy to use without a cluttered interface. If I would dare ask anything more from the developers of this open source product, the request would be for 1) internal user or external e-mail list management for mass schedule notifications, 2), Youtube video or sound uploads, which can greatly boost the attendance and response to certain scheduled events.
With nothing more to add here, I wish the LuxCal developers much visibility and prosperity in the new year, even by my help!
Good-day!

The calendar of LuxSoft is a great tool. I looked very long for a suitable tool and found it by chance.Installation and usage is quite simple.
Open bugs are closed by the developer very fast. The support is great. Love to see when drag and drop is added ;)

The best calendar I could find
Reviewed byGorkon Sun, 25th March 2012
I went looking for a calendar written in PHP I could install on my web server several months before finding LuxCal. The only calendar I found which would do what I needed was $25, and came obfuscated forcing the user to install a decoder and un-obfuscator program on their site, adding a layer of complexity which was, quite honestly, a mess. LuxSoft won't even ACCEPT donations, though some have donated to worthy causes in the name of LuxSoft. Per the license you are free to view and/or change the script to suit your needs. Heck, LuxSoft will even help you out to some degree.
I had initially breezed past LuxCal because it did't allow the user to change/delete single events in a series, but LuxSoft listened to their users and added this ability. LuxSoft does a GREAT job integrating solutions and fixing the few bugs users run across.
Try out this full featured calendar - you'll be impressed.
Very, very usefull !

Potentially GREAT

The install was EASY. However, the execution needs some help. Unless I missed something, the View links are messed up. When I view the year, great. If I view anything else, it's like it's off. Example. View month, I think I'm getting the weekly view with the month view selection bar at the top. So unless I want to view the first week of the months the system selects, I cannot view the week I want. If I select week view, I get a day view...etc....

Everything seemed to be going along fine until it came time to actually launch the calendar and configure. Following the directions exactly, when it came time to load the calendar for the first time, all I got was a blank screen. Pitiful.
Flexible web calendar with very nice user interface

Version 2.5.3, expected end of September 2011, has many new interesting features, like - for example - the options panel, which replaces all drop-down menus in the navigation bar. The calendar's user interface has become even more simple, however, with more flexibility and more options. This calendar helps me to manage my business from any location in the world with an internet connection. Slick design and easy to use. And . . . for free!
