Andromeda Streaming Jukebox (PHP) Reviews and Testimonials

I used this software on my website Apostolicmm.com for over a year. It works great and it's relatively customizable. It doesn't allow easy arranging of files. It can be customized by changing a prefs file. You simple upload it and the files show up. Overall it's a good program. My only peeve is the customer service. They wouldn't provide the file to me, after I lost it and provided my Paypal receipt. They told me I had to pay more money and upgrade to the community edition.

The software works well, but is misleading. This ad says free for personal use, but if you go to the website to try and download, the personal version is $35.00. The trial version is free to download but only lists every other .mp3 file in your collection. Proceed with caution...

I'm currently using the Andromeda v1.7.1 PHP version on my Web site and must say that it is a great little script. I did a fair bit of searching for scripts that would play both audio and video files and almost gave up... luckily I came across this one. The script is very easy to install and I only had one problem - which had to do with the way I was entering the path names. However, the author responded within a couple of hours - this is especially impressive given that we live on opposite sides of the world. Other features I like include: the ability to add your own header/footers; ability to search for titles; ability to add annotations; ability to use your own style sheets; extremely easy to add new files - simply upload to the directory and Andromeda will generate the correct links! I could go on and on, but it's best that you check it out.

I think Andromeda is by far the slickest, most feature rich MP3 streamer out there, but in my opinion it's two features short of perfect. The first feature that could make it even more useful is an option to dynamically down-sample songs for users with slower connection. And the second missing feature is an option to sort songs by date. Other than these two missing features, it's got everything else you could imagine, including ease of installation, reliability, and skins...
