PG SocialBiz is a great fit for the community development world. It is an easy-to-use software and pleasant to the eye. Besides it provides a worthy functionality at a competitive price: a convenient administrator panel with flexible settings. And, of course, it is monetization of the site. You can manage finance, check statistics on users payments.
The only drawback I can think of is that Social Biz is not very scalable. So, it is best to use it for smaller, niche communities as you will not be able to maintain a million users database on it. I do not need it however as my community is relatively small, so it's ok.
Anyway, I want to say I've tested a number of scripts, Pilot Group is the best. So if you need to create your own business, I recommend you this website builder. The software is also backed by one of the friendliest customer service-oriented teams. Thank you!
