Flexible adaptations allow an individual solution for everyone. In case of problems the community or the programmer always helps directly and solution-oriented. Thanks to its multilingual nature, this software can be used anywhere in the world. I have been working with this program for many years.

Have used TNG for 12 years, and this product has the best presentation with dynamic PHP underneath to generate the HTML. A few years ago, 'Mods' were introduced, allowing users to share their customized code, and I currently run 38 Mods. Also, has 15 templates in the base product, yielding 15 different looks or themes. Add to all this excellent support from Darrin Lythgoe, the author, as well as a user group blog and list. Product is updated regularly with new features as well. A great value.

I like that I can view my site from anywhere I have internet access. It's like carrying around all my genealogy files with me everywhere I go. There are levels of security you can set up so that you can collaborate with other family members from anywhere and prevent people from seeing data on living people.

We works since 2012 (V9) with TNG.
I test a lot and this was my choice at the end.
Local programs are only for yourself. Cloud programs have not so much privacy. Here you see all and have control over your installation, media and data.

I've been using TNG since version 6 in 2008. Recently upgraded to v10.1.2. Fantastic support. Really nice additional user mods can be added to help customize the web site. In addition, I've been able to easily add my own updates so that visitors to my site can do a better job of understanding the genealogical links from one person to another.

The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding is very easy to maintain (an administrator's viewpoint). I've been told that the site appears to be overwhelming. This is probably due to all the bell and whistles within the program.

Been using it for ages. Have just bought a second license for another website.Allows a non-techie (like me) to produce an elegant website. A wide range of user-friendly "switches and knobs" allow the design, content, security, etc. to be altered to taste. Allows the user to set up his/her own website on his/her own server or rented server space rather than be a guest on someone's "free" site-building server which basically leaves the guest locked in to that server and unwillingly/unknowingly donating the genealogical data to the provider.

This is an absolutely wonderful program for my needs. Some will be put off by the fact that you need a server to host it, but this is exactly what I need. It allows for easy editing of my data, no matter what computer, tablet or phone I’m on. I need a mobile solution, that allows me to easily work from anywhere, and TNG does that superbly!

I was a php & css newbie when I downloaded this software but with the great support offered by the developer & forum users, I've created a website I'm proud of. I chose this genealogy software after a great deal of research. It is updated when needed and the developer incorporates many of the user suggestions. And who can possibly beat the price for what this software offers?

Couldn't be much better. Works smoothly; the user can personalise it to the nth degree, depending simply on his/her knowledge of computing - it doesn't need any skill to set it up and get it working. Support is among the best I've ever received - emails are usually answered within half an hour or so (maybe not during the night!)

I had been using TNG v7 for many years. I then paused a few years and I have just upgraded to v9 yesterday. TNG is simply the best in its class - completely unrivalled. Affordable price, powerful script, excellent support. Darren replies within minutes to my email. There is a large forum with a large community and tweaks and hints are available everywhere. But even without any tweaking the out-of-the-box software has a straight-forward installation and works seamlessly. The stability of the user community is outstanding.

I have used several genealogy programs, and paid a lot for them. I then had to export the website into individual pages and upload them to my server, what a hassle. The end result is that small updates were never made to the website, only complete replacements every year or so.
Then I got TNG. WOW! This has completely replaced my software. Now every update, no matter how minor, is online immediately.
Plus, the system allows me to grant access to relatives, who can update and maintain their own info, or entire branches of the tree.
This software is the best genealogy software at any price!
I am going to be purchasing my upgrade to the latest version this weekend.

This is a great program that requires some tech knowledge to set up, but hardly any to run. It gets your family tree out where it can be seen and used by the whole family. The developer is very responsive and user community is great. I've just upgraded to v9 and each version works better and looks better than the last. Bravo, Darrin!

TNG combines the advantages of a commercial product - excellent support - with the advantage of an open source project - safety. I've been using this software since several versions now and I'm impressed by the nice gadgets Darrin adds every so often. The only downside is the upgrading process where you have to deal with single files.

This program is not only fairly easy to install but has become much easier to use. It is straight forward and easy to integrate with other GED family programs. The owner is easy to get a response from and fixes programs in a timely manor.

TNG is the best software for building a genealogy site. You can easily add your own history or family pages into the TNG generated scheme in multiple languages. TNG automatically suppresses details on living individuals. Registered users can view the living persons details but restricted to their allowed branch within the genealogy tree. TNG with a MySQL database is the best way to dynamically present one's genealogy research. I would strongly recommend the software.
Beside all that it's very cheap and worth every penny.

Just began using it a few months ago but find it is the best on the market today. I was able to get a site up and running and import my GEDCOM file, truly a blessing as it is so easy to use and so customizable. Highly recommended for anyone considering a genealogy website.

This is such a great program. I have been using it for years and I don't think I've ever thought, "I really wish it could. . . ." It already does. Could it be better? Sure. For one, the developer comes out with new versions all the time making it better. And maybe it could be improved by making some icons bigger. Not much of a criticism!

I have been doing genealogy since 1984, using genealogical software since the late 1980's. I've had a genealogy web site since the 1990's. In that time I have used many different genealogy programs, some were free, others where not. My current web site, http://rhodesfamily.org/, has about 500 individual web pages. It also has a very large database of Rhodes families, all spellings, and national origins, which contain thousands of people and families . The genealogy database software I use on my site is called "The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding", otherwise known as "TNG" for short (written by Darrin Lythgoe). Previous to using TNG, I had been using a free program that did basically same thing as TNG. The program I used before TNG was cumbersome and complicated to use, plus I found the database could become corrupted if you didn't follow it's explicit instructions. I found myself having to reinstall it on many occasions. Once I purchased and installed TNG, I found it was head and shoulders above it's closest competition with its ease of use, even if you could get the other software for free. The only regret I have with the software is, I wish I would have used it sooner when I started my web site. The software is very user friendly, and technical support is awesome.

The latest version, 7.1, addresses any previous shortcomings. Great new features include albums and video capability, Google Maps linked to events, and a lot more. The template system is still a bit clunky, but this is easily overlooked in favor of the full range of support and customization available through the support forums and developer. If you're serious about genealogical research, this product is highly recommended!

About the software: TNG is very* well writen, very* interface friendly, with a pro look and feel. Administratively easy to maintain. No need to "KNOW" php to get this gem up and running. I wish my PC basied genealogy research software were as well designed.
As for support: Even when I've made a bone-headded mistake, Darrin has always been quick to respond and get me back on my feet. I've been amazed time and time again at the speed in which he will reply to my e-mails. He quickly knows the answers, and points me in the right direction. (but I must admit, the last update was so easy, I didn't have to e-mail him). Typically tech support is the LAST group you want to contact for any reason, w/ Darrin, I actually look forward to communicating with him!

Genealogy is perfectly suited to database technology and Darrin's application is perfect for genealogy. There is so much to this program that I can't imagine a better way to accomplish the task of displaying family information. Very well done.
I also like the support from the forum. When I wanted to customize my site, there were people available that try to help.

I have tried multiple genealogy program on my local drive, but never was able to find an affordable program to use on my one site to share my info and involve others in research. The latest TGNv7 makes it possible for anyone to create a robust and great looking genealogy site. This is better than most of the expensive software programs I bought for local drive and at a much better price. Great and timely support.

If there is a finer genealogy software available anywhere, I have yet to learn about it. If the is better support anywhere, I have yet to hear of it. The product and its author offer a way to have your genealogy on the Internet yet keep it free for commercial use by others. Instead of everone having their own verison of a genealogy on their computer, families can access the same database and grow their genealogy together. Excellent!!
This program is very easy to use, both front and back end. Extremely easy to install, customise and populate with your genealogy research. Ideal for the 'noobie' or the accomplished webmaster. As for the price of the licence, Extremely cheap for what you are getting in return. This is the best value program I have ever purchased.

I really liked the interface and multiple template options. Despite not knowing PHP or SQL, the installation was easy and so was changing the CSS to match my existing theme. It's rare to find a product like TNG. Not only are the scripts excellent, the customer support is unparallelled. This lets me concentrate on my research rather than spending my time creating individual pages for each person in my family database. Plus, it's all automatically linked together. It's low maintenance and extremely powerful. Add to the mix an enthousiastic email list and forum, with many addons and great ideas shared. I've been extremely happy with TNG and I highly recommend it.

I've used TNG since v.4 and Darrin just keeps on making it better and better! I have never seen ANY company provide the type of user support that Darrin provides.

I can't say enough about the quality of this application or its author. I have NEVER had user support as good as this. I have never waited more than 2 hours to get a reply from Darrin, no matter the time of day.
TNG has made site maintenance an absolute breeze compared to other programs. Before using this I was faced with a 2000 page + upgrade on my old site. Now I can make major revisions in less than an hour and add 100's of images in a day or two!
This is a must for genealogists on he web!

I read the review of this programme in the Family Tree Magazine in the UK and decided to risk buying it. If you are unused to dynamic databases it can be a bit scary but the support you get from the author himself is incredible. Along with this is a comprehensive set of on-line forums where enthusiastic and helpful folk share their experience. I'm really looking forward to exploring its potential. With the strength of the pound against the dollar at present, it's a real bargain. Go for it!

From my point of view this is the best possibility at all to share genealogy and family history at the Internet. After years of hand-coding a 2,000+ page web site and making myself crazy in the process, I came upon TNG. After seeing it for only a few minutes I went to Darrin's site and checked out the details. When I did I couldn't wait to buy this software.
I was able to replace my original web site in only a few days, allowing me to avoid spending weeks to revise and update the old site. This software is worth every penny and more!

I have done a lot of searching for a script that would enable me to publish my family tree on my own website without the restrictions of Ancestory.com or other public Genealogy sites.
This script was easy to setup and get going. Darrin provides awsome tech support for the script and is always working on improving it. Free updates help so that I didn't have to pay again to get the script improved.
All in all, in the couple months that I've been using the script, I've found that it's the best Genealogy script around and it's very versitile for any size of tree or any layout you want on your site.
