Great idea but horrible execution

My first experience with this software was I was launching a php-nuke site and wanted to add a "paid members" section. I purchased the software and the plug-in only to have the plug-in documentation open with, "This will never seamlessly integrate with php-nuke." Unfortunately, there's been a LOT of that with this software. Plan on lots of time trying to communicate with the creator, who's primary language is NOT English.

The overall software works perfectly, however things that should be built in in my opinion are add ons that wind up costing even more money, the software is already over priced. i purchased the software and then was informed that to make the software do what it should do anyhow it was going to cost me another $40 to $60 .. this is an unfair business practise and should be looked down upon...
Great Software at a Great price

I am extremely impressed with this software package. the price is quite reasonable. Technical support is top-notch. 95% of source code is included so you can make changes as needed. The coding is modular and permits purchasing of different modules or if you are so inclined can write your own. The company does offer customization at a price, however I have never used it. I really can't say anything critical about them.

AmemberPro is a great combination of PHP and MySql at its very best. This is the third program for Membership subscription that I have purchased, please don�t make the same mistake of finding this program last.. you will go no further after seeing its capabilities. Every part of Amember works without the buggy software I had downloaded before. If you want proof of how good this is, then stop off at the OPEN forum. I am so impressed with this program! Not only does it work beautifully, and do everything I need it to, but the customer service is not to be believed. I am a PHP/MySQL novice on a *good day*, and Alex was so patient with my questions, answered my questions super promptly, even logged into my server and fixed a problem (that *I* created) and gave me a little PHP lesson in the process. And this is *before* I bought the program. If you need a membership/user management script, this is the one!!!!!

We originally installed the free version -- which is superior to every membership script we tried. Then, last night we purchased the full/paid version. Frankly, I didn't realize that installation was included in the purchase price and thought I had to pay extra for it. NOPE! Alex (the author) installed the script in 24 hours, encountered a minor glitch relative to my server (not the script) and fixed it GREAT GUY! GREAT SCRIPT! I spent days researching membership scripts. This one is the best.
Excellent Software and Support

I came to Amember after a horrific experience with a similar software company.
Amember installed the software for me in less than 24 hours and it works beautifully!
All my questions and requests for help were answered IMMEDIATELY! Even 3 months after I first purchased the sofware. I can not say enough about the company or their product. The templates are so easy to customize, the plugins are fully integradable.
A definate bargain too for the price.

Excellent Software/Script

I have tried many user management scripts on the internet and they all seemed to only do half the job. This script has done absolutely everything I could ask for. It is expandable, the support team is great, and the code for it has been written near flawless. I must say that you SHOULD try the rest, then come to this, and I'm sure you'll be as pleased with it as I am.
Amember lets me releax and enjoy my subscriptions.

Just wanted to say that my purchase of amember pro automated what used to take me hours of careful planning to do in one affordable program . Where I used to track memberships manualy and expire them myself with a calendar amember prod soed this for me. It also process in real time all my transactions with Paypal so I don't have to do them myself anymore.
One last comment I made a small suggestion to the author something as simple as if possible in a future version if he could have usernames based on the e-mail name of each new subscriber and he did the modification for me at no extra charge. Now this is what I call dedication and support above the call of duty.

I've used several membership scripts and amember is one of the best. Customer service is fantastic! The program is extremely easy to install, and if you're not good with installs, the developer will install it for you at no additional charge. Well worth the price!

aMember Pro has been an excellent asset to my site's membership administration and has been an absolute "god send" when it comes to all those time consuming tasks such as members misplacing passwords, wanting to edit their own details and even renewing their memberships. Along with all the terrific admin and member options aMembers support service is brilliant. I have never received such a top notch and reliable service as this. Alex had my program up and running along with a few other extras that I needed quickly and efficiently. This program is easy to use and allows you to edit the templates so it matches with the look and feel of your site... Plus aMember Pro also has an excellent support forum where you can get loads of excellent tips and advise. This program contains many first rate features and as I mentioned above the service is outstanding. I am totally impressed with the whole package.

Amember is simply an excellent membership managment program! If you want an easy to install, and ready-to-go script in PHP/MySQL, this is the one for you! If you get the $99.95 version, you do not only get the script + a free installation. You get free upgrades and an excellent tech support!
A proof of that: The non-profit org I was working for needed lots (but lots) of changes in the script. AMEMBER tech support do not even gave me the answers, they provided a free-reengineering and a free new reinstallation! And when I needed to make more, and more changes, they answered, and so, I could meet all the requeriments the org was asking.
AMEMBER script is also fantastic. It is easy to use, easy to configure, and more than effective. All the mentioned features work more than perfectly. It�s pretty amazing all the advantages you get from Cgi-central!!!

Cons: Though the system (and the new version) is pretty complete, they still need to make an online setup system for controlling ALL the features online (even the most complex and rare). STILL, their actual setup system is very good, since it covers the most common, and uncommon features. =)

I will have to say that right from the start Alex answered my preliminary questions before the purchase. I emailed numerous software developers, he was the only one to respond to my questions.
Part of the purchase price includes setup. I had Alex perform the setup and during this period the customer service was excellent. After the installation I began configuring the overall layout as well as transfering my current subscriber base over to aMember. Unfortunatly I am not knowledgable in this area but again Alex came through with his supurb customer service, answering numerous (and I mean numerous) emails. He continued to help me configure the software until I was satisfied with the setup.
The software itself is FAST!!!. He developed the software, leaving out features that slowed the software down. I would have to say that I prefer the faster performance. It's a real plus.
In conclusion, I not only rate the software a "5-Excellent", but also the customer service and support that is included with this package.
