Hi All,
this is more of a question than anything. I'm looking for an auction and classified site together. The only software I have found is the Geodesic software for this. I have used the demo software for a few days now, and although it seems very complex to use, i'm sure after playing about with it for a few weeks it will make some more sense. The user interface of the website is not the best but maybe thats a sacrifice (or maybe I'll learn to make it more friendly) for having both classifieds and auctions together. And yes, seems like a lot of money has to be spent on add ons to make the site work good even with the free add ons. All in all, i'm thinking of making a full license purchase for this software.
My only concern is, the people who have left the negative feedbacks and suggesting using alternatives. My question would be, what other alternatives are out there that include both classified and auctions in the same price range? I can't seem to find anything as powerful as Geodesic so far...

I only wish not to have wasted so much time, money and effort using other scripts... Geodesic solutions was highly recommended by my brother and without giving a second thought I got my own license after I saw on his site what this software is capable of...
Since the beginning to this day the support team has always done things for me and never felt like alone whenever I need their support. Their support and the product both are unmatched. Also the Forum section where thousands of licensees use this script are always more than happy to offer a helping hand for newbies like me.
It is very rare to find a dependable platform which can accommodate Classified and Auction capability and Geodesic developers are way ahead of other companies when it comes to deliver the sure thing. I am getting my other license as well and will be used solely for niche product.
How can you go wrong with a product which also offers the capability to show your product or service in other countries, states, provinces and cities along with complete address and Map etc. I use ten regions for each product and it will certainly boost the site within no time...

I am no programmer/web designer but I found it extreamly easy to work with Geodesic Geocore Max script! I get timely support from James Park! One thing that i realized a year after my purchase is that the script has a lot of useful feature that other scripts don't offer! We love updates and everybody waits for updates, this is one thing Geodesic solutions is good and frequent at!
I highly recommend the script and with their recent updates the script is now extremely fast compared to earlier versions.

We run a site that lists equipment for sale within a specific industry niche. We recently crossed the 100K line with about 120,000 live listings.
I don't know that there are many options for "out of the box" classifieds/auction software. When our management looked five years ago, they felt Geo to be the best choice, so they set it up.
I *hope* that the software has gotten better, especially "more lightweight" since v4 came out several years ago.
Our company has spent thousands of dollars in plugin development, with a lot of headaches. At long last, we hired a programmer full-time four years ago.
There were several issues we faced; a learning curve to do modifications, either by "configuration", that is, writing "modules" or "add-ons" (modules are the easier of the two), or "customization" by replacing bit-by-bit portions of the code until we had what we wanted.
After looking at this complexity, we opted to mostly do the latter ("customization"). After we learned how to customize the system, we found issues bringing it to scale. The v4 platform (and we believe, also, the v5), follows a "one script to rule them all" philosophy, and creates huge objects in memory and simply didn't scale well when you have thousands of products listed. By splitting the audience-facing responsibilities out to smaller scripts, we finally obtained a solution that scales fairly well to the many thousands of products we have listed.
I don't know that we found Geodesic's support system to be a bad one. We had an expensive support contract and they supported us well from 2009 to 2011. However, once the decision was made to go "custom", we let the support agreement slide.
At this point, we have well over $100,000 invested in our installation/website. Probably not what most people would call cheap; GeoDesic software has, however, kept us going and is still the very core/backend of what we do.

We have used Geo now for many years and I continue to be impressed with it's flexibility and huge array of features which can be "twisted" to suit our needs easily on the Admin panel. I have no programming knowledge yet I manage to run the the largest website of it's kind in our country and I now employ two people from the revenue we make from our website, powered by Geo. I have used other systems before Geo and found them extremely complicated and hard to use. Right from the beginning as a "newbie" I was able to get this working "out of the box". It is very easy to "tweak"/customise but if I need something complicated there are providers like Geo Modules or Blu Fyre who can install an addon (although many addons are provided already by Geo), or those people can custom programme something if I want it. It means I don't need IT people, I can run this myself and if I want really special programming I just pay for a bit here and there which is hugely cost effective.I love my Geo and we would not be running the successful business we run today without it. It has been perfect for us with huge numbers of ads, registrants - it never misses a beat. Geo also put out new upgrades with "new toys" once or twice a year, so they are continually developing and improving the script. Highly recommend, it's the right fit for us who had an idea, but not much money and even less skill to make it happen. Geo gave me the tool to put up a professional looking service, that just keeps growing and growing year by year.

Have used this product fo a few years now...and lost interest in it. I have used the support features, and given feedback, but they have never addressed the real issues that clients have.
I get the 'its not designed to do that' or 'you can sponsor it if you want it'. In fact I did sponsor the 'bulk uploader' update, & never did manage to get it to work, it was too temperamental, we spent too long just trying to find out why it wouldn't load.
1. The client side software isn't user friendly to new users, they have to 'find' their way around it, often giving up.
2. The messaging system creates no record of existing conversations/history.
3. You'd need to spent a lot more to get it to do what you really want it to do, so don't think it'll be ok out of the box.

Leased the software for over a year then bought the licence. Never had a problem that wasn't fixed quickly and efficiently. I buy a years worth of support and upgrades every time and it is worth every penny. My only gripe is that I was a total noob and should according to the write up be able to do everything myself without any problems... Truth is you need some savvy to get the most out of the software but that was up to me to fix and it's not rocket science.

All declared functions work fine. Paid support answers within 1-2 days. Free support answers within 2-7 days. Be ready to reed very Great user guide (manual). If you dont comfortable to edit css, html, php, - please be ready to use default design. Need changes in some MySQL tables for Cyrillic usage. Do not be afraid, support will make it for you.
Carefully study the demo. If you are not a Professional in PHP and MySQL - сhanges and additions for your site can be quite expensive

I bought this script for an auctions and classifieds website.
I know very little about web design. Still, it is easy enough, with tons of documentation and premium support (that comes included for 3 months with purchase) that has allowed to to deliver a nice looking site with lots of functionality: maps, filters, FB, all kinds of selling and buying options. I shopped for many other scripts, some free, some way more expensive. Fortunately it was a no-brainer to go with this.

Truth about geodesic script

I have a site running geodesic script, the script is ok but you will ready to pay a lot of dollars to make your site great. The script is like basic script so you will need to go to their developers like blufyre media, geomodule etc to get good addons and/or customization, and these people will rip all dollars out of your pocket. The script has no SEO as they claim. OLX is using it but the guy has done a lot of customization that make his sites totally different from geodesic software Again, if you have no knowledge of php,css,html please don't wast your money buying the script. There are a lot of completed script out there (just do your research well) even ordinary classipress script that is not php script is by far better than geodesics software. Their support is good for one year after which you will pay again to get support (I have no prob with that) but the script does not worth and not able to stand against competition out there. Go to google and search for "Best Listings Site on the Web!" these are some of their script and most of them have no traffic because the seo for the script is very bad with a lot of other issues. I will not recommend this script to people with less knowledge of programming.

They have many options to make your software to look from a simple classified site to a world top of the line website! I Know SHI* about HTML but this internal module is so simple to edit , upload internal images that you can make it look Great! And the most important is stable, I have more than 3,000 classified and thousand of visits every day!!! Also tech support A+, I make the more stupid question and they always help me or send me a link with the info! Of course you have to read and learn!

I find a few of these reviews somewhat strange, they certainly do not correspond with my own experience of this company or product.
This software is not just good, its brilliant and if you want a stable well written classifieds script that' is easy to customize I doubt whether you will find much better.
With regards to support I have not required help that often but the support I have been given has been prompt and courteous.

I dug myself a hell of a hole by messing with the core PHP files, and they were there on live chat immediately to help out, and got my problem solved in minutes. I think of myself as a pretty experienced, smart debugger, having been doing everything from assembly language to C++ to SQL to ASP to PHP to Javascript for over 30 years...but Jonathan spotted the core problem and nailed the solution super fast.

I've been with Geodesics for a couple of years, and being in the Southern Hemisphere has meant that our time zones are different potentially conflicting with support business hours. However it's more of an idea than reality, because I've always managed to get good response...bottom line is you have to be patient for a couple of hours, but there's always someone present. Helps also if you get premium support.
This software is fantastic, and the editor is perfect for your programming needs. The forums are alive with technical imput should you need it, updates are timely. The best way to know about this product is to check out their demo and look over the softwares feature list on the main geodesic site. There's great flexibility and functionality. And when you get a site going with this engine, there's no regret! Don't waste thousands on pennywares...go to the real macoy !

Purchased and used multiple licenses since some of their early versions 6-7 years ago. I've wasted thousands of $$, countless frustrated hours, and lost business revenue/potential !!!! The software is nothing like it was when I first purchased. It was first setup so anyone could make a site from scratch. They now focus 98% of their efforts on software and support sales. They have one or two coders that know how to work with it themselves...they do all the work or these two have free reign on the company. I think that's why their software is behind the rest is they can't keep updated never mind release current apps. The functionality is years behind the crowd! Definitely a bunch of half nots! Save your money and your time!!!

Sorry we missed your review or we would have responded much sooner, we have been very busy working on the software! We actually released a new version 7.1 in mid-February after this review was made. We then released 7.2 with even more features, just 2 months after that in April, so we have been very busy! We have another feature release that we hope to ship out in another 2-4 months as well. My point is we have not slowed down by any means, although at the time of the review it may have appeared that way unfortunately. I think part of the problem (at the time you gave this review), we had a lot of "silent" changes we had to make in the software as we were re-structuring the product. These changes were "behind the scenes" that do not "show up" in feature lists so it gave the impression that there was not much progress being made. Now that we are past the product structure changes made last year, we are back to making rapid progress on new features to keep us at the top of the industry!

If I could go back in time I would not buy this product. They are money hungry and will nickel and dime you to death. They also always have a sale going so if you think you have to buy it to get the good price do not worry. The price is always the sale price. I hate companies that do that.
But the worst thing about this company is their support. They are very unhelpful, they will not answer your questions properly with details responses. It also takes them days to respond. Warning bad times a thousand. This is a company that really could care less about their customer, they just want your money and then there is no more help. I recommend you keep looking, I regret every buying form them.

UPDATE: Due to valuable feedback from you and other clients about the product pricing and structure changes that were made last year, we have changed things so that all of our addons are now included free! You were not alone in the unfortunate "impression" of nickel and dime pricing, that was not our intention but unfortunately that is what it "looked like" to many people. We have since changed things so that all addons are now included free with the software! We had good intentions with the previous pricing / product structure that we enacted last year... We thought offering a single product with a low "base" cost, with paid addons would allow people to "only pay for what you need". Many clients such as yourself didn't see it that way however, so we have adjusted the cost so that you only pay one price and you get all of our addons included for no extra cost.

Holy crap!! You can't contact them. I moved from one server to another and can't get no support or a change in my license,(as promised) you go the live chat (Brian) and ask for the license and they pretend to give it to you and say your site isn't working because of something you did and try to sell you support. Yet THEIR MESSAGE states license issue. Then you go to your client area and the old license is the only one posted. So more evidence nothing was changed. Then I asked (Brian) to send me the license numbers so I can manually put them in and he tells me they don't have access? And then when you try to contact support you get automated messages saying you have to buy the yearly package at $200. Run away as Fast as you can. Oh he also told me if I didn't like it I should buy my software somewhere else.

10/10 We have had this on our site for over three years now and have just started to really take advantage of the abiity to generate income via our some types of ads and ad upgrades. This is pretty easy to use, considering how customisable it is. Our revenue is growing steadily due to our Geodescis ads and there are vast opportunites ahead that our Geo will let us tap into. Support is good and we have always go through any tricky things even though I am not personally very technical. Having used other scripts befor e and found them so diffulcult to use and no user friendly, we love our Geo! It really is simply the best in the world as far as we are concerned.

I bought the Basic License 2 days ago to check it out and buy the enterprise license later. It would be too early to review in only two days but as far as I have seen it is simple to use, but doesn't have a sitemap. Will come back with more if there is something to complain or praise about

This software is more than good and I think rating of excellent is not quite enough, its super excellent especially for novice users like me. This software is created very carefully taking everything into consideration before bringing out in the market.
Since, million dollar company OLX uses this, there certainly is a reason otherwise they would simply dump it and find something else...i think its straight forward and I dont see any thing to complain about this.. and last but not the least, support is unbelievable. They treat the customers like family members, trust me, try it and see an example as my website, myworldlistings.com.

I have no idea what the dissenter's are referring to? Maybe an old software version. What I can say is the version 5 of this software is superb. It is exactly as advertized and the support is FANTASTIC. Both the support (via email) and the online chat (help desk) is wonderful. We are a very significant operation and hosting the app within our own environment and I couldn't be more pleased with our association with this company. The software is well priced and super functional. I would highly recommend the software to anyone interested in online auctions. It's great!

I have been reading the below reviews, most of which have been written by people who would like to think they are successful on the web, but are in reality what we call in Australia "Neville Nobodies".
As the CEO of Australia's dominant canine website (www.pups4sale.com.au), ranked continually number 1 on Google.com.au for the past 5 years in a row...and counting, let me add an opinion that is actually worth something, instead of the dribble I am reading from the critical empty heads below.
We have used Geodesic's classified scripts since day 1. Our net profits are increasing year on year by 40%+. Our gross increase is similarly spectacular.
We outrank by a huge margin in our field Australia's largest classified site (tradingpost.com.au) which was sold 2 years ago for AU$660M to Telstra (our version of AT&T). Why? Because we use Geodesic classified software.
Yes Geodesic have had their issues over the years, but their customer service and the quality of their classifieds script has continued to steadily improve. In my opinion (and remember I am speaking on behalf of an extremely successful business), there is currently no better classified software to be had online.
What opinion you listen to is entirely up to you - but I base my opinions on real world, demonstrable results. The ongoing market dominance and success of our business demonstrates this more than anything else I could say.

This is probably one of the most misleading online purchases I have ever made. These guys are scumbags, and I'm filing complaints with the BBB, and the FBI for online Fraud.
They have it laid out on their site so that you can not tell the difference between what the different versions have or do not have. The Demo is of the enterprise version the highest version. But they do not tel you that. NOR do they tell you all of the things that are not even included in the $400 premier version which is their middle version! All they say is that's not included, and u should upgrade to their 800 version which even then doesnt have most of the modules or add ons included. Hell the middle version doesn't even display a main picture with the listing! That's fricking extra! Very restrictve admin and code

It sounds like you may have missed the part at the top of the main demo that says what the product is, and lets you change between different products. It sounds like unfortunately you also missed the links to the free trial demo creation form, which allow you to get your very own trial demo, running the exact product and edition, with only the addons you want, and with full admin access. We have many clients that actually "start" their site using a trial demo then transfer the design and settings and such to the "real site" once they decide the software works for them. We also have a full comparison chart. I apologize if you missed all that but rest assured we do not intentionally try to mislead anyone. After all it is in our best interest to make sure every customer gets exactly the software they need.

I purchased The Premier version less than a month ago and can't get help for the life of me. I spoke with a rep on the phone and made sure I was purchasing the right version and addons for my needs. I let them know I only know php, css and html and they assured me that I would not have any problems editing the page layouts and designs in those formats. Now I'm told I need to purchase the Enterprise version to redisign it. What a rip off!! I email at least 5 times a day and get only 2 responses and when you get a response, they send you a link to their manual. Their manual is written in a way only a programmer can understand. They want you to use their user-friendly interface but their manual is far from being user friendly. Their manual is written with all three versions in mind but nowhere does it say what version do each instructions pertain to. Confusing ! You can't even get the manual in PDF format. Oh I forgot, you probably have to upgrade to get that too!! No thanks, I'll keep my upgrade money for something else.

We strive to make the user manual and all the documentation as understandable and user-friendly as possible, if you ever come across something that does not make sense don't hesitate to bring it up! We are a customer-driven software company and value all feedback, especially when it can help to improve the software or documentation. Note that anyone can view the user manual, it is up there for anyone to look at if you want to see for yourself what our documentation is like. We do not offer PDF format of the user manual, but only because it is in WIKI format and is simply not able to be converted into PDF format.

Junk Software - Nickle & Dime operation - Poor Customer Service

STAY AWAY! This software is junk, old code, poor design and structure. The nickle and dime you to death making you pay anywhere from $50-$150 for modules that are basic features included in other scripts. By the time you get a comparable script together you're looking at nearly $1,000. With that comes horrible customer service, lies, and bs. STAY away, you can get the same or better functionality out of 200-300 dollar scripts.

I'm sorry you see it that way but that is not our intent, although you may have a need for $1000 worth of our addons and base software that is not the case for everyone. When you are buying our software, our goal is that you pay for only what you need, meaning that those sites that may not need all the extra features added by this or that addon, do not have to pay the full price it might cost of those features were in the system.
On the opposite side, there are some addons we find a large majority of sites do use, in which case we add those addons to the main software since most sites will make use of them. You can actually see evidence of that with the Geographic Navigation addon, an addon that started out as an extra purchased addon, but proved so popular as soon as it was released that we now include it with all software versions and editions for free.
We also offer leased license options, which include ALL of our paid addons for no additional costs, an excellent value for those sites that may find use for the majority of the addons we sell anyways.

Purchased the Enterprise Classifieds a couple of years for $799. Had problems loading it up got error messages. So decided to wait for an upgrade sometime in the future but left the site up partially working but dead in the water.
I moved servers last week and when I tried to get the program working it asked for a serial number so I put in the original serial number which was rejected. It turns out that after the years support that comes with the software if after that time you change servers or domain name the SOFTWARE WILL NOT WORK without a new unlock code which you will have to renew your support with them for $300 to get it.
I was going to upgrade to version 4. Not know and not going to pay $300 for an unlock code for software that never worked so $799 down the drain.

Our support services are free for the first year of the software license. Additionally we provide free access to ALL updates we supply for the software for a year as well. The license never expires however if you want to continue to get the latest software and/or access our support services you have the option to renew. Renewal is optional and can be renewed at any time past the first year.

I've had the full commercial version of Geo-ClassAuctions for a year. I'm very impressed with the support especially. They have responded to problems - and fixed them - within 24 hours. I use the auctions side only (the classifieds has no payment/checkout system). And I think the auctions side was a little weak compared with their classifieds which has been out there longer and has a loyal following. However, their new Version 4 released in February gives more power to Geo-Auctions. They've done some major work on the backend, adding a new checkout system (which replaces the invoice system) and integrating ClassAuctions with Smarty (which is still optional at this point.) There are many add-ons available. A Bridge connects to phpBB or VBulletin... there are a lot of good things to say about GeoClassAuctions and I'm especially looking forward to using this brand new version.

Initially I thought it was the greatest script, after spending a few hundred hours with the script I found there to be several errors to work out, and support for the errors doesn't exist!! You pay for features that you don't have full access to .Great if you're a developer who wants to pay for a script & then have to edit the open source code. Support for the product isn't the same author/developer;they have no idea what they are doing.Leads me to think its copied

I believe you can read someones forums and gauge how much frustration is coming from the people that bought software from a company. Geo has great products if you want a basic site with nothing fancy.If you want to make changes expect to pay big time.If you are in the business and understand code like html,php,css and more u will love the software.It will probably surpass your wildest dreams. The biggest advantage of being able to buy software to power your website is price. Developing software or features is expensive relative to the cost of software. Because we understand that there is no way to develop every feature that is imaginable we do not encrypt our source code and also offer customizations. Our fees are comparable to other developers however if you are not happy with our fees we do not encrypt the source code so you are free to have features developed by your own developer.

One of the best choices I've made regarding my aviation classifieds site, Propwash.com, was to buy this software. I tried the the free version for a bit before finally deciding on the Classifieds Enterprise ver. 3.0. I was a little apprehensive to spend the money, but I can tell you now, 3 months later, it's worth every penny.
Very powerfull program and phenomenal support from both the staff and forum community. Highly recommended!

The Geodesic Classifieds solution is a robust and easy-to-use system built for PHP novices and pros alike. I am a novice PHP developer and I was looking for a classifieds package that would allow me to create a unique and simple classifieds presence on the web. I started with Classifieds Lite and upgraded to Basic. The support team, the sales response - all aces in my book. Exactly what I would expect from a software company. I'm using the free version. After running my classifieds for a while I noticed a particular function not working. Althouth it turned out to be my db and not a fault with the script, the support I received was amazing. Very fast and helpful. If they are this good for the free version, support for the paid versions must be absolutely superb. The down side.. I do find it hard to find some of the user changable params in the maze of options. Once set.. works GREAT.

I like this software:)...It is extremely versatile, and customisable, and the support has been excellent. I had a few problems with hosting providers with FC2 with php Ion Cube, but this was a php problem rather than script fault. I can understand what a previous customer said relating to documentation, you always wonder whether something should be possible....unless you have the Ent version. However, the email support and help has been exellent. 4.5 stars:) Time to make it xhtml compliant?

This is the best classified advertisement & auction software I have come across after a 6 month intenational search! Their support is excellent - particularly their willingness to assist sites outside the USA like we Australians. We started with the Basic Classified Version - went to the Enterprise Classified and finally settled on the combined Geoclassauction Version. We bought 3 copies & plan to invest in 6 more. I have always found their support to be prompt, friendly and informative.

Now it's time to leave a very bad feedback, since years I have bought this script, I have never really used it on my site! Why? They said it's a multilanguage script, it's an excellent script for one language, for two languages it's lots of problems because the way this script is built, for three and more it's impossible!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the price of this script ($99 at the time of this review) you really cannot go wrong. Includes some features you normally won't find in scripts in this price range, and the support was excellent. Admin interface makes basic design changes rather easy, and I was very pleased with the overall functionality. More design flexibility would be nice (one page determines the basic design of the entire site), but again for the price you can't go wrong. Overall an excellent script with great support.

I purchase my first two licenses of Geo Classifieds Enterprise in November of 2004. Just recently I purchased 3 more licenses. Trust me when I say this - I am a very careful person and I trust this company. The software has created a second income that has recently enabled me to purchase my first home. If you want to compete with the big boys on the internet (100,000 listings +) then I would recommend the Enterprise version of this software. The software is very intense on the different things that you can do/change. This software will take an experienced individual several weeks to get to all of the different options that is offered. You basically can change everything in this software. If you need special programing then the support is there for that as well. The support is top notch.

I recently installed the Basic version of Geodesics Classified software on my site. I must say that I was impressed with product only to be doubly impressed with their support!
I had a small install issue, at least to them. I offered to pay for the repair, but the correction was minor and they didn't charge me.
That being said, the instant response and respect I got from their email support was second to none!! If your looking for a value and a team dedicated to your success, you owe it to yourself to check out their software.

Had an installation problem that was responded to quickly and efficiently. The issues were resolved at no charge. And the best part is they actually took the time to explain the resolution of the problem. I researched this and three other vendors over a period of two months and sent so many questions by email that I was convinced they would stop answering the questions, but they took the time to answer the questions with full explanations each time. The Customer Service is excellent and the software has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. The options to upgrade to the next level of the software as you advance are affordable and grow as your buisness does. What more could you ask for?

I use the classified enterprise version from geodesicsolutions for two websites. I can say that you can customize your website in a different language. But this can take some time to translate everything and make some extra changes etc. But it is possible! The software is not only nice, but their support is really great. Great product and support. We initially purchased the Full version but quickly decided that the Enterprise version was in order. both are great products, but for a big site I'd recommend going straight to the Enterprise version which has alot more flexibility and options. After looking at the plethora of classified ads programs, I decided upon GeoClassifieds. Unlike many of the others, it allows a savvy user the ability to heavily customize the program. If you know your way around PHP and HTML, you can do amazing things with this program. Geodesic Solutions provides a forum for users and you can find lots of good ideas and solutions there. The company is quick to listen to its users and incorporate the suggestions into the program.

I tried many php Mysql applications. And this is the best of all on classified. There are others as well but after research I ended up with GEO. I'm still in the process of setting up my wesite so far GEO has exceeded my expectations! Specially the support part. GEO Enterprise is open so you can make changes if you wish, NOT like most others that use the so called Zend Optimizer which is not an optimizer it only hides the PHP script, so that whenever you need to change something you have to pay them.
Though the Enterprise Versions are expensive than others but they do their job well. The Options which I wanted to add to my classified site were in it. It is a excellent program for people who don't know PHP or MySQL. One thing I noticed on their Forum that they upgrade the software with the feedback of cutomers which is a win win situation. So far my experience with them had been great! and I would highly recomend the application.

By looking at the feature comparison matrix, I thought there is not much difference between Enterprize and full versions. Now I am feeling like I am cheated! If you get the enterprize you get a cadillac, if you get any other version you'll get a bicycle. Anything less than enterprize version has many basic features missing. You cannot even search for a price range. Good software if you can afford the enterprize, otherwise think twice before you jump on the bait.

The program is very comprehensive and can be customized for your specific needs for extra charges. If you have them install the program you better hope they will be there for eternity. If you have/intend to install or make changes yourself there are no help files. The manual provided was of little help. From the advertisement I expected a full blown product with adequate help files, but was disappointed with what I received.

This review is a bit of a mystery. If we have anything we have information outlets. For the Premier, Full, and Basic versions the instructions are built into the administration as the administration of these products are designed for the novice. For the Enterprise version we have created a 150+ page manual. In addition to this, we have tutorials, a knowledgebase, a forum, and free email support.

This is probably the strongest classified ads program that I have ever used. I have downloaded several classified ads programs before Geo and was very unimpressed. It has tons of features and so easy to use. I cannot say enough about the support on the product. The Geo Support Team are just awesome! Never once have I had to beg for support or gotten an email without a resolution. Give this product a try and I assure you won't be disappointed! Keep us the good work Geo Team!

Their is a learning curve when you buy the enterprise classifieds. But the support is awesome so you are never alone. You will not be left in cold with this software. If you are looking for power and options then this is the program for you. In my view NO ONE IS BETTER! Always check the support before you buy a product. Their are no zend protections in this program. If the programmer dies you can always out source to constantly enhance your web site. No one is better.

I have purchased the GeoSolutions Classifieds for a site I'm developing for animal sales, and have been extremely impressed with the layout and design of the software these people write. They have thought of (almost) everything, a person might want to customize and created a way to do it through the Admin CMS.
All unresolved problems by myself, have been quickly stomped out by the PREMIUM support staff at Geodesic Solutions with one email request...NO BEGGING EVER.
I was skeptical at first, but this is THE BEST code I've ever purchased. This software is NOT for begginers though, unless you just want to use it as is. Customizing this solution will reuire an advanced understanding of HTML, php scripting, and server configuration/setup settings, to get it all working smoothly your way.

2009 – I am looking at getting back into the classified game I thought a good place to start would be the licence I held with this script. Much to my disappointment the developers have told me the only way I could use this script now is to make an outright new purchase because I have not been paying yearly updates up until now. I feel this is very unfair seeing as I was not using the software until now but there was never any mention of a limit at the time of purchase. I do not feel this company has looked after me as a customer and I find their philosophy appalling. I advise anybody looking for a script to run a classifieds site to consider my case if you will be planning for the longer term.
2004 - I find GeoClassifieds to be a powerful and user friendly classifieds scrip. I have found changing the look and text of the site output to be easy using the admin interface though in the cheaper versions of GeoClassifieds editing of the PHP files is required for more complete layout changes. This classifieds program is stable and easy to use and tech support has been helpful with installation and upgrade assistance.

You get a full year of software updates and support when you purchase the software, but I'm afraid that year starts when you purchase. After the year is up you should only have to pay the "renewal" cost which is around half the price of the original purchase, or sometimes much less if we are running a promotion. Regarding the design: That may have been how things were in previous versions, but now days (for a while now) all editions of the software are fully template based, with full access to customize any templates you want, and the software uses the Smarty template engine which gives you very powerful template customization options - all without ever touching a single PHP file.

We are very pleased with the ease of use and the power to customize every aspect that you can think of. The technical support offered by this company is simply the best! If you are professional it's the one you need, if you are not too... You will save your time and your money there. A french professional user for one of the biggest classified ads site in Europe.
