Impressive script but still full of bugs.

Impressive script, long time on the market, but unfortunately still full of bugs. For me it seems the author is not really interested to spend some time in resolving some of the already old bugs.
Impossible to move category as you want verified

At first glance : easy installation, looks good, simple admin. Then, problems start : move category or cut and paste category prevent you to modify your category tree as you want. I lost 2 categories this way. Time lost, no way I could use it safely.
Complicated to modify, author support rather sparse

At first glance, it looks good... until you try to modify it. Seven years since the last review and nothing much has changed. Yes, it's a template based system. Are other templates available? No. Something as simple as a company logo? No. Be prepared to be/hire a web programmer to wade through the code to make even the most basic of changes.
phpMyFAQ

On a first glance, I am impressed with the script. Functionally it does (most) everything what such script should do.
But, I am afraid, that there is rather non-tecnical issue here. Although the script's appearance depends on a 'template' design, potential user is forced to dive into the script so deep, that it really becomes the question of take-it/make-it, if he wish to have not-so-very-canned appearance.
I realize (though), that it is easy to blab, when outhere is somebody doing all the work for you (at no cost). But at the same time it is also true - if I were somekind of programer - I'd be able to do it myself, or - I'd be able to adapt it myself to my needs.
Since I am poor at being creative at any sort of graphical design, plus since I am a poor excuse of a programmer, I am it giving lower rating than it deserves if looking exclusively through what the progam does.
Buggy and difficult to customizable
Reviewed byAnonymouson Fri, 15th October 2004
I have used phpmyFAQ for some time and even upgraded to new version. All the time I had problems with this software - it was buggy, almost not customizable to suit my design and difficult to manage. When question was had been posted I had to answer it and then even delete the former posting as it would be always in New questions thread.
I have never used XML and PDF export and even if it could be handy I doubt it's widely used.
Language Mess!!

I don't know a bit of Dutch or German, so how do I navigate myself around. The multilanguage support is bad and could not even get to donwload.
Great FAQ solution - works for me!

OK, I have to admit that I am totally new to MySQL and php. But I was able to set up a great (well, you decide) FAQ using phpMyFAQ within minutes. This solution is great for interactive growth of the database and still easily to administer. The upcoming version 1.3.0 will probably introduce some mre nice features. I can't wait to be able to sort topics, use pdf support and create multi-lingual FAQs.
Thanks for the great product!
One Of The Best

Easy to install and quick to figure out, the developers clearly had thier eyes wide open while in the planning stage. It uses templates to seperate code from mark-up which makes theming a breeze. Even if you're not looking for a FAQs system, I'd urge you to try this one out just to see how well put together it is.
Great

This FAQ is so east to install and configure, it's almost no fun! :)
A nice and easy template system makes it easy to change the look. The developers has done a great job!
Thank you! :)
