Before you buy this script, make sure to evaluate the demo.ilance.com site and view the source code. Horrible use of css. If they can't even write proper css and use div tags properly, how can they even dare to be in the software business.

I tried to launch a marketplace with this company twice over the years. Every time I tried to get a feature to work properly, I ran into bugs that halted my progress. They should really call this auction script iBugs or BugLand... If you submit a bug on their community forum, you have to wait for an update for months and when the update finally comes, more bugs follow, because they decided to add more buggy features. It's been their story all along for as far as I used this script. Look elsewhere and don't waste your time and money. Go with an established company with a large customer base who actually knows how to run a business. These folks are just hanging in there by a thread.

I have been playing around with iLance for the last few weeks, and it has been the most amazing time ever. The quality of this script is unbelievable good and professional. Every detail behind the script is perfect and you deserve all the credit you can get.
I’m just totally amazed. I’m lost for words. There is absolutely no other script available like this one. I now understand how much time you have put behind the release of v5. You guys must have spent crazy many hours building this marketplace script.

I initially had to choose between 10 different companies that were providing auction software, after my first conversation with Erin I knew ILANCE was the way to go, the customer support is awesome. Now, I am by far not the most technology savy person but the ILANCE software is very user friendly from both the back and front end of the site...I have had nothing but praises about my site - If you are someone who is looking for a company to provide the best possible product to really wow your customers you have definitely come to the right place with ILANCE!
We highly recommend iLance to anyone wanting to start an online auction business.

During the sale,she tell every great word,after sale dissapered,i stand alone with many bugs,broblems,unfunctionalty!i asked her,support,she told wait 1 month,new release comes,i wait 1 month,noting comes out! now over year,noting comes out! İ asked refund,she told,ok let me talk my biss,later i wrote her again,she told,we dont have sale now and no money! You see how full of game! this is a game an this is a shame!

Of course we support our core product! , did you expect free custom development? yes that charged on an hourly basis like most software out there. Where are the bugs you reported? so far our tracker is clean.

I was looking to set up and run my own business since I had access to a considerable number of products, but I didn’t really know where to start until I ran across the ILance auction software system. This product in a box certainly looked like a great opportunity, so I decided to take the plunge and order.
First and foremost, I was impressed by how the entire system is set up so that even someone like me could understand how it all works. I was able to customize the auction site to meet my goals. The ability to upload product information and images is quick and simple. I was even able to do a live video auctioning off some goods I had purchased locally and make a considerable profit.

the support received is above and beyond what you would receive elsewhere. Even though I am over the other side of the world they were so helpful. Also their hosting is worth while getting as I had issues with other hosting, but as soon as I transferred over, there were no problems at all! If you are considering purchasing their products, do it as you will be looked after well!

I recently got into the jewelry business and was trying out a number of different auctioning platforms. I came across iLance and decided to give them a try after previous software either didn't have all the tools I needed or was too buggy to effectively use.
So far, the wide array of integrated features have significantly improved traffic to my business, and this discovery factor has been extended into a really user friendly system once they get on and see something they like. I ran into just one bug so far in my operation of the tool, and after contacting the iLance designers got a fix for it within 48 hours. The shopping cart options are pretty intricate, and communication between seller and buyer is vastly superior to ebays system here. This was one of my better investments in retrospect.

What is not functioning? Did you submit any issue to the tracker for developer review? We do not sell software that is not functioning, we aways recommend reviewing all documentation before each step to ensure understanding of the core features.

Once I started this helpful auction software my business has got successful turnaround. My sales went up and everything is now extremely easy. Also, it will help you with your SEO as I have seen great improvements in traffic as well. The guys from iLance are also very helpful and their customer is exceptionally good. When it came to running our charity auction for the local Rotary club, going online was a no-brainer. However, finding the right software that could run our auction effectively was another matter. From what we tried, either the software was too complicated to learn or it was not capable of handling all the items we had.
That’s when I found the ILance auction software system and decided to give it a try. In just a few minutes, I had figured out most of the system and knew this was going to be the right call for us. We uploaded the software and were ready to load in the products for our auction. The entire system worked smoothly and there was hardly a glitch even though our auction had over 300 items up for bid.
The ability to customize the auction site was really great as we could upload the corporate sponsor logos and other information that made our auction a real hit. It was not all that long ago that we were doing live auctions over our local cable station to our community. Thanks to ILance, we are now auctioning off items to our community and people around the world as well.
I cannot recommend the ILance auction software highly enough. It is easy to upload, intuitive to use and can easily be customized for different needs all for a price that beat much of the competition. I only wished that we had discovered ILance even sooner, it has been just that good for us.

I have started with Ilance from month and a half ago. I had some cash from previous affiliate marketing projects, so I wanted to give a try, since the features and the options iLance offered sounded great.
After I bought the basic user license, I started to fill out my action site and realized that ilance offers so extraordinary features. The possibilities are basically endless, you just need to be creative, you can use the software for various business ideas.
I think that with little experience in buying and selling online you can create a really amazing auction website with iLance. Right now I’m caching in selling various products from one niche that is really not that exposed or popular. But with iLance I feel like I have the power and I can do so much other things.
ILance offers you to set your own rates and fees and the security is top level. You can track and manage the payments at any time. It is easy to use, secure and very fast.
The lead developer Peter is really amazing. He has helped me with a lot of great tips and advises. Also, I’m in contact with their customer support very frequently and they are just amazing. They have helped me very much. They were so kind to teach me to get the most out of the software.
I’m very thankful to the people at iLance and I plan to use them in the future with new projects. I warmly recommend them to anyone, as I have been doing to my friends and family.

i purchased it about a year ago, with a great promise that it will give me the abilitty to run an auction marketplace.
in reality, there are bugs everywhere, which will not let you go without hiring a company that will drain your power but eventually will give you what you want - 4-6 months in delay.
SOME TIPS:
always search for real and live sites that have been developed with the tool you aim to.
if there are no, than all the attempts of the script owners to "respect our clients privacy" are one big lie.
ilance doesnt show who is using the script, probably because no one brought it to a stable version yet.
Try to get into the forum. Actually none of these companies will let you get into the 'pit of dispair' of their clients, simply because they know that you will not buy it after it. search for experienced users of the script. ask them what they think.

Where are the bugs? did you post to the tracker for review? ILance works efficiently out of the box if you so choose to keep it default. Quality effort and thought can go into building out a site that is customized based on a software framework, imagine the time and money if you had to build the site from the ground up, it would be more like 50-100K and not to mention the time to hire the perfect team for the job. We do show example sites when asked, such as the following: sometimes some further effort and/or budget needs to go into it if you wish to go to the next level, but ILance offers a great start and what clients do after is up to them.

I liked the software after much research for the best. What I like are the amount of features in this software it flows very nicely also. I would advise as with any software have an IT braniac on standby you never know when you need one...

I bought the iLance software a few weeks ago and this is what I can say honestly about it.
1. The new version (v4.1) does look really nice but it's only the home page and 1 or two other pages. The rest will be done when we see red snow falling from the sky...
2. The software itself (admin) is powerful and has potential but there are TOOOO many bugs. So, if you are not able to make changes in the coding or don't have a developer to fix some stuff, you would rather not buy it.
3. The support of iLance staff is a pain in the ass. Sometimes, they give you fast feedback but most of the times you don't get an answer, even if you send them a personal message. oh, and by the way: by saying 'they' or 'them' - it's actually just one person who is responsible for forum questions and answers.
There's some more things that I don't like about this software but as I would like to keep my review short:

My business partner and I are both very pleasantly surprised with the ease of use of the package and the capability of the platform. If anything we find ourselves scaling back a lot of the functionality and not needing to add any extra’s which is great! We are also very pleased with support and prompt communication from the iLance team. Can not fault anything!

I'm already working for days on Ilance and can't get it to work.
I ordered the hosting also to avoid server problems, but simple things like register as a user and sending emails are not working.
I installed the version multiple times.
You can not configure any template information without the consulting a developer.
I'm programmed my own webshop so I'm not an Internet Dummy but this software is just not good. Please be aware not to spend 500 $ for a poor package.
By the way think also about the option that all the positive reactions look like commercials, I believe they are not real.

Please be sure to request consultation services regarding these email issues. Basically, you might have enabled "Email queue" and emails in this environment do not get sent immediately as there is a delay to ensure the server is not sending email in realtime but in a batch method at some time in the future (this prevents the server from being a resource hog). There is a few settings to handle that in your ILance Admin Panel. Regarding template modification- if you do not have HTML experience then yes you'll definitely need to hire a designer to help you make the design decisions and choices that best suit your web site. It's like any other site, you need to design templates the way you want (or go with our stock templates which are nice and newly updated to HTML5 / CSS 3). All this takes a bit of patience if you're just starting out. I encourage you to ask on our Forum about who has left testimonials on our site. Just like you, you have the option to post a testimonial on our main web site for the world to see. These are not fabricated and that's why we've been serving customers for over a decade. As a mum this script has been the best thing for me i am now able to work from home running my own business and running my own auction script without trouble.Unlike most scripts out there ilance has provided with a professional look and constant customer support.They are there when you need them and are always willing to help you with whatever they can.I have never had a problem with the company there great and i recommened them to anyoen wanting to start there own business its well worth it.Keep up the great work

I have professionally been using the iLance auction platform for years, since 2006.
The platform itself is under continuous improvement. Many features have been conceptualized and implemented based on user request and feedback. The best thing about the package is that it can be fully customized to your needs. I myself have configured the application in too many ways to list here.
However, let me say this to all the reviewers giving it a poor rating: If you haven't hired a developer (or plan to) to work with you on your project then you are not really serious and you actually have no business reviewing the package, because you actually have no idea what you are talking about. If you are a developer and you give this package a poor rating, well, that's even worse because you REALLY don't know what you are talking about.
Anyway:
If you are serious about providing a professional level forward/reverse auction services in your niche, you have just one choice. iLance.
Good Market place script

i got the entire code instead of some hidden or encrypted one, which helped me a lot.it is based on a MVC, i dont think most apps dont do it as mvc(since they would like to see $$ in customization too) but ilance was designed better for those who can redesign.
Both the SEO support and FUll text search meant a lot, and u can change it as u want,most important is the multilingual and international currency setup helped me a lot to expand beyond United States.
since i had worked with a large set of open source frameworks i would say it is the easiest, so you can make it do what ever u want :)

In 2007 we purchased and then started customizing ilance extensively .We have customers in ilance who are top businesses in the US & Canada who are completely satisfied and successful with ilance. Let it be reverse auction, forward or even customizing to penny auction there is nothing flexible in the market other than ilance. With 200+ features it will take 3 years to build a product like ilance. Developing greatest product with elegant design, ease to use (friendliness), and simplicity takes vision and focus. Only few entrepreneurs got that patience & perseverance. Those who got it are successful with ilance. Honestly ilance has everything in place at a reasonable cost for a business to be successful. For example we have added ADD-ON features like VOIP (Click to Talk) , Reference, CRM , Video Conferencing and so on. In my experience ilance is the greatest expert script in forward and reverse auction.

I am and was very disappointed in iLance. I purchased the product and it never worked as it was supposed to. I purchased support which is just access to a forum where you can post questions. Problem is that you can post and no one ever answer the questions or the topics that they refer you to don't relate to your issue. I spent top dollar buying full package, support/upgrades, brand removal kit and paid them for 4 years for hosting...never got the site off the ground and NOW their site has been down for several days and I am not able to reach them. I went with them b/c I thought that they were a bigger company and that their product had been in circulation for a while and that I'd have lots of support and most of the bugs of a new product would be worked through. I'm disappointed and will just count this as a lesson....will do more due diligence before offering up my credit card to the nice sales lady. I finally converted my site and now looking for a new script
