What A Workhorse!
Reviewed byAnonymouson Tue, 12th July 2005
This system put our older system to shame! It features much better templates, easy to install modules, and even a comic module to lighten your day! It automatically emails new users upon creation, and you may set users into groups or restrict access to areas on a user to user or group basis! This system is phenomonal!
Now on to the cons:
1.) If you make a user invisible to others, there is no way to undo this; I think you're stuck w/ that choice forever. :(
2.) The notes module is somewhat interesting in that you are able to view all notes no matter what it's related to. That's a good thing sometimes, but I'd like to see the notes closely attached to what's being referrenced, more so than just listed on a single screen. That's an opinion.
3.) The E-Mail module is not really good at removing large quantities of email at once, to the best of my knowledge. It at least works using IMAP, however.
All in all, this is an absolutely fantastic product and I would say it is worth purchasing as long as they can offer an "unlimited user" license for a reasonable price. The free, open-source version is beautiful and I would recommend this over any other online project management system I know off hand.
almost works, but terrible support

I was in need of groupware software and thought I would try this one. The install went well, however I could not get the file upload piece to work. I posted this on the support forums and 6 days went by with no progress.
I'm very glad I tried the free product and saved myself the money I would have wasted had I purchased the pro version.
If you believe you may ever need support stay away from this. 6 days is too long to wait, even for the free version.
Great groupware suite.

I've tried many groupware suites, both commercial and freeware, and none have come close to matching Group-Office for ease of use, features, and looks.
Group-Office has everything you could need for a remote groupware application - everything from project tracking and to-do lists, to web-based email and file sharing/storage.
Godly Groupware

I have been stumbling along for months for a groupware php app to organize and handle projects amongst my crew, failing miserably day after day until now. Group-Office is a manager's dream come true. Not a single detail is left out, yet not sacrificing GUI for extensive function. The interface is easy on they eyes and great for people that are not so knowledgable with web applications. It's extremely easy to install. I give it 5/5.

absolutely horrible. I almost made it through the install, after renaming several files so they were the same case as the code was looking for....but then I cleared my head and began searching for something that actually works.

Hi Mean Yoghurt. I'm sorry you didn't manage to install it. Also too bad you are rating Group-Office poor while you didn't even use it. Guess that says enough about the value of your review.
it's great

I also searched for a groupware and now I have found for what I'm looking for. Easy to install, all features I need, works with my hoster without performance problems an last but not least it looks great.
Group Office

Group Office is a well-designed, well-crafted package with much potential.
Their installer made installation a breeze, and the application is intuitive enough that the average user can master most functions withour assistance.
So why not give it a '5'? Because documentation is a bit sketchy, and does not address one of the major applications ('Websites'). The web editor, file uploads, etc. all work, but I can't figure out what they are good for ... there's way for users to view them.
