Easy to install and requires no database

This was the first script that I had ever installed. The set up was a breeze due to the instructions supplied by the author.
As the author notes at his site, SIPS isn't as powerful as the database backed scripts available elsewhere, still SIPS should prove useful for those sites not requiring, or have access to a mega-database server.
Even as a small scale alternative to the large news/announcement/weblog type scripts, SIPS features a nice array of useful tools like member registration/login, member posting, administrative control page, link posting, story searching, among other things.
If you have a small site and would like to add weblog-type interaction, or just need to make posting information to the web easier, I would highly recommend using SIPS
