Please note that MODx CMS is now on version 9.6 and will most likely be releasing 9.7 soon! I love MODx and even created a one page overview with links to free MODx templates, examples of sites powered by MODx, and reviews comparing MODx to Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal and Expression Engine. http://www.squidoo.com/mo dxcms
Very slick and very modern CMS

I think what separates MODx from alot of the competition is the fact that it doesn't fall into the trap of being "Yet Another Portal System". Unlike other content management systems, the template system in MODx is not at all complex. Plus, the API makes it possible to build your own custom PHP scripts and/or integrate existing PHP applications and scripts. Simply put, MODx makes it very easy to manage both new and existing sites in an easy-to-use yet very robust back-end manager. Check it out!

CMS for designers

At last somebody understood that CMS means making things easy, not more difficult. This CMS is for designers, just get your tags and embed these into your HTML. You are not constrained to silly templates of CMSs. Content is king and kings should live in palaces, not in silly templates. Start using MODX.
