Out of memory error

I have used v5.6 of Search Engine Composer and it does not index more than 20,000 web pages (although unique words are only around 200,000 and web pages are only 5-7kb each)..
The software gives an "Out of memory" error while much of my RAM is unused (I've an i5 with 4gb ram).
