Good idea, poor implementation, not for every company

Abundance of unnecessary functions, uncomfortable interface with poor navigation, paradise for CEOs but a time-consuming, frustrating experience for your personnel. This is TUTOS for us.. If you want to control your employees better, to have everything in your hands, you can use it and profit from it. But dont forget to ask the people who work for you. Deadlines are good, time pressure is bad, especially in programming. Instead of thinking of better solutions, we think of the time booking.
For computer companies that work accross borders

Tutos is a wonderful software that is great for small-medium groups with distributed location of individuals.
The description given above adequetly explains the software.
Some Cons that I came accross is: low flexibility for people who would like to customise it.
It has for examples, division of labour into 'installations', 'companies', 'costs', which might not apply to everybody who would like to use its core functions.
Installation is easy.. one drawback is that most of the files in the package end in *.p3 and *.pinc
... if your server doesn't recognise these extensions as PHP scripts, you will have to add a few lines to your apache configuration files.
If you are on virtual host, try to install it... backup and then delete the .htaccess in the php folder (the php folder is inside this package) if any accessing probems happen...
Interface is a bit tricky, it takes a couple of working to get used to it... could be simpler.
But none of the other groupware seem to have all the features that this has... so try this one out!

Tutos has an excellent permission & group system.

Having looked at over a 100, I conclude that TUTOS is simply the most advanced GPL groupware/intranet/project manager available now.
CONS:
Not very good looking or flashy. However, you can use & design alternate themes to jazz it up.
The menu system could be more intuitive. However, it's possible to activate only a few modules for certain users or groups of users, making it simpler.
PROS:
-Absolutely superb permission & group system which gives you a precise control over who see & can edit what.
-Plenty of modules (calendar, bug tracking, file management, notes, tasks & projects, watchlist (notify of changes), resource, timetrack & invoice, fax, sms, addressbook, mail & LDAP, and others...
-Full documentation.
-Currently #2 on SF.net
-I disagree with previous post about "low flexibility": Tags can be easily modified in the language file.
WISHLIST:
-Wiki module
-URL bookmark manager
-Global search box
You should definitely install and play around with TUTOS. Another great choice is phpgroupware.org
Best colaboration tool

I recently joined a small software company (20 employees) as their CEO. I found that people were working in 7 or so different countries trying to collaborate with theirs peers across different timezones, languages, etc. based on just telephone calls, e-mails, written notes and they were not coping with the related difficulties.
Day 3 of my job I had Tutos installed and running and the rate of absortion and usage was extremely high and fast.
There are a lot of groupware around but if you are looking for a product that can support:
- Employees and customers in different geographies/timezones
- Need to relate incidents to projects and tasks with close tracking
- Need to automatically send changes on the incidents all across your teams (whereever they are) via e-mail
- Need to interact with your project stakeholders on-line in different languages
- Relate your meeting/memo notes and documents to the different tasks/incidents
- Get out of the box graphical statistics on how the tasks/incidents are progressing
- Audit who is doing what
- Focus on what is still outstand to finalize the project and what is their current state
You absolutely, without any doubt, need TUTOS
