The script has the potential to be awesome, but right now it's missing some basic features. They bost of 9 years in the business but Iv'e seen cheaper scripts with more features. 1) The ffmpg feature is not there. You have to upload Thumbnails
and post video length times, ffmpg would take care of this so the user wouldn't have to 2) Email notifications are not there. You aren't notified of new subscribers via email, no video comment notification. no comment reply or notification. No new uploaded video email notification to subscribers.
The best feature this script has is the youtube download feature, now that's awesome.
If this script had the aforementioned missing features this script would be the #1 selling script on the net hand down.
Oh and Andrew seem to be the only one answering customer issues and that usually takes a day or 2. You know I'm right Drew.

I'm extremely disappointed with PHPMelogy.
The script has endless bugs, new update come to fix some bugs but end up bringing new ones, even worse. You never know to whom go after to get help (as somebody says before), they do a kind of game between them 3, Andrew, PHP Sugar, Avengate. You never who will help you. I paid for update in my site and after 3 days and 4 attempts to contact someone to tell me when it would be ready, I decided to look for any kind of help. I found my order Status: "Delivered" . Can you believe it? Then I spoke to somebody in a Forum (John, I think) and told him all this nightmare situation, then he sent a message to somebody else in PHPMelogy that came and delivered the update at the same day of his message. PHPMelogy is a ticket to a good nightmare.

I purchased two themes and I attached the bill. I never received any of the stuff I paid for. I emailed the company 3 times and got no reply. I googled around for a customer service number and was only able to locate a company named Avengate which turned out to be the credit card processor. Avengate claims they don't have any contact information for them except the same email address I already emailed and they would escalate my concerns by emailing them as well. Even after Avengates emails they still failed to reply. This is very poor customer service they took my money and gave me nothing in return. Automated emails is not customer support especially if you don't respond to people. I still need to know does this company still exist, and why is there no contact#?

I purchased this CMS three month ago. When the latest version came out I had to try it and I ended up buying 2 new licenses for undeveloped domains I had laying around. In just over a month I got my investment back (with adsense) and then some. Things are looking up.
Here's why it worked for me. Three Reasons:
1. SEO that works.
The most important part of php melody is that it has all the right things for SEO. I did have to buy the mobile addon but that only by choice. Be sure to use the built-in features (sitemap generator, mobile addon, etc.) if you're going to use this video cms to get search engine traffic. They sell a mobile plugin too and it is a bit of a shame because it is sold separately but I consider it worthy.
2. Impressive support,
I usually don't include support because i think in this day and age it's obligatory. But about a week ago one of my two sites crashed (my bad) and i couldn't manage to fix it. Even though it was a Saturday (!), the guy replied to my email and even spent an hour fixing my mess. I am happy with this because i know that someone is there if i need them.
3. Fast, easy deployment. Cut my working time in half!
I have over 40 sites to manage and I usually don't find it particular enjoyable to spend my days clicking back and forth and copy/pasting content all over.
Good thing that while I worked with this app to build my sites, everything was exactly where I expected it, i didn't have to make any unnecessary work to do a simple thing.
I choose to import videos for the time being until the sites really take off. Then the plan is to move to a new server and host the videos. But for what it's worth, i think there's no better app at managing 3rd party videos. If you need a video cms for this, trust me, it's the best.
Conclusion:
Given these three reasons, and the fact that php melody worked very well for me, I'm giving this product a full 5 star rating. Php melody is definitely a bargain and worth the investment (both time and money).
Overall a great script to work with and the recent update released in August has fixed all the minor bugs that were out there. I would highly recommend getting this especially if you are like me: managing multiple websites and/or making money from ads.

Just can't say enough about PHP Melody. 6 stars if it were possible.
The thing to understand about PHP Melody is that it's a software dedicated to video managements. It's for people who are looking to build a video site within the hour and not during a week. Unlike other solutions you don't need any special server or custom addons. Everything is ready to go after uploading the files. There are several key advantages PHP Melody brings. One is the stability of the app itself. This is a polished product (6 years in development) and I like that a lot. No unexpected problems or silly bugs. Another advantage is the team behind the product. I mean, the creator is still working (daily!) on this project after all these years. That's worth more than the license price. It's peace of mind and you can't put a price on that.
PHP Melody is a very unique video cms which is intuitively and cleverly organized around how the video publishing process actually works. It's got more flexibility than most people will need. I highly recommend checking it out if you are working on a video website.

Good script to showcase other websites (YouTube etc.) videos.
Biggest drawback, it does not allow registered users to edit, delete the videos they upload. In this sense the users experience is extremely limited in that while they can upload a video they cannot manage them.
Support is OK if you don't mind waiting weeks to hear from Andrew.

I rated it fair because of some mistakes that have been made since the introduction of V1.7 and up. There are just too many holes in it. Plus, if you are running IE10 and older, it has some serious problems and it has been pointed out but largely ignored.
The service isn't what it used to be. The staff is so busy working on the new version that the older versions are left for user support more than anything else. Be careful, if you point these things out, there is a very small group that will go after you hard and steady and get away with it. I am probably being kind at giving it a fair rating.

I started off with PHPMelody 1.6.5 and am now using version 1.9. Andrew and his team has never been anything less then awesome. When I initially started with this video cms (about 2 yrs ago), I thought it was the best out there. Since then it has continued to evolve and impress me. I think the thing I am most impressed with it that whenever I have had a critical site problem (and it has only happened twice so far) Andrew had it fixed with a prompt email response within hours. They also helped me move from one domain to another that was no easy undertaking given the size of the site all while upgrading to v1.9. The forums have been very helpful and the documentation and help files have greatly improved. I'm sticking with PHPMelody for a long time to come. Thanks !!!!

We conducted considerable research to find a video CMS for clients. I've been web developer for 7 years now and I rarely come across such a devoted team. Everybody nowadays seems to sacrifice quality for a quick buck.
That's not the case with PHP Melody. I love the product, i use it for my custom projects and here are the things that make this product special (for me):
1) The code is 100% unencrypted so I can modify anything i want
2) Regularly updated and prompt bug fixes
3) Great community and good support

I changed the layout a lot and integrated some stuff from the database in to my head-website. At the moment I have +1000 movies in the database and it is working great. More than 300 articles. And the article feature is great.
The only negative point is that customize the layout is not easy. Maybe the woners have to make some new layouts/templates and sell them. Also new plugins. That would make the script excellent!

I purchased their PHP Melody it took several support tickets which they did not answer, a phone call that wen to voice mail, requests on their forum an other places did not get the link after 5 days. I finally got the link so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I purchased a template and now they do not send that link. I don't know about thier software because I am afraid to install it given their bad support but I would be very careful purchasing anything from them and always pay by credit card not Papal because Paypal does not help on digital items. So now I wait and hope.

I attempted to post on thier forum but they do not let you. I put a message on thier facebook account and still no answer. I guess I have to dispute the charge. I am using PhpMelody almost several years and I have to admit that I have never experienced such a great customer service as I have with them, Somebody here is writing that they wanted money back after 30 days... Are you kidding? This script costs so cheap and plus you have full Demo which allows to try before you buy and after some days you want money back. This script is WYSIWYG, don't like it don't buy it.

It is amazing to get such a good script and support for that money. I bought script 6 months ago and I became crazy about it. Support you get from Andrew and crew and community is oustanding. Prompt replay for every question on forum or over e-mail. Script is working wonderfull job and it has no bugs. It is easy to custemize since there are many how-to on forum. You have to import videos but there is option import them from your YouTube account or from other video site. Look no further if you need proffesional script to present you work on make video site.

The application script does a perfect job at managing your video collection. Very nice instruction manual and excellent documentation make the install a breeze. The php script can be modified easily for your customized video CMS and six beautiful template are also available for download for a nominal fee. I was impressed with the speed of the script as well as its stability. For the price, this is by far one of the best video management scripts on the internet. I must say that I was a bit skeptical of what this product can do because of the reasonably low price tag. I went ahead an purchase a copy of PHP Melody for one of my Romanian lyrics sites. The product was delivered right after I finished my order with well written documentation and additional tutorials. Translating it was easy and I got a lot of help from their community/forums. Andrew is a great guy and was very prompt. He also provided great tips and strategies to get traffic. I love it!:)

First of all let me say that I'm not used to posting reviews about products however i really had to write on for php melody. The installation went flawlessly and I was glad to see that everything was working. PHPMelody is well documented and support always goes the extra mile to help you. I love PHP Melody because it has a clean code and everything makes sense. The PHPSugar team have done a proper job and this product has everything i needed: members area, dynamic pages, template system and the possiblity to import videos with minimum effort.

This must be the best purchase i've made in all of 2007. The thing i value most is the support reply time. I don't think i've ever waited for a reply for more than 2 hours.
I don't know much about php and the video tutorials helped me a lot with the installation.
I strongly recommend this product to anyone looking to start a video site or add videos to an existing site.

This script is basically everything I wanted in a video script. I mostly enjoy having the video importing tool and the feel of the admin area. It must be one of the most user-friendly products with clean code and not to mention the flawless installation process. There were no problems with the installation and i had the site up and running in less than 20 minutes. I strongly recommend Andrew and his team and I give PHP Melody a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
